In 2007 a small dedicated group of pet groomers in Washington state got together and formed a new State Grooming Association,  aptly named the Washington Alliance of Groomers (WAG).  With in weeks of it's founding it was granted Non-Profit status as a Corporation of the State of Washington.

The founding groomers felt this was a great way to open the lines of communication between pet groomers and offer continued education for grooming professionals throughout Washington State.

The need to keep informed of legislative situations as they affect the grooming individual and/or profession in the future is encouraged by the national pet grooming associations such as NDGAA, IPG, and ISCC. Many states now have pet-grooming organizations.

WAG,Inc. also moderates a Yahoo Groups list  "washingtongroomers" you need not be a WAG member to join and be active on this Internet list for groomers in Washington state.

Brandy Simis...
  Acting President ...owner of a mobile grooming service based in Renton.  Brandy brings to the table lots of ideas to help improve all groomers and to encourage more public awareness and trust for the groomers of our state.

Pam Julian...
Acting Secretary... owner of a mobile grooming service based in the Skagit Valley and Mill Creek.  As a recent returnee from 11 years in Arizona and as an elected officer of the Arizona Professional Pet Groomers Assn, Inc. brings her many years of the inner workings of such an organization into play for the growth of WAG, Inc.

Susy Scott...
Acting Treasurer... owner of a mobile grooming service based out of the Mill Creek area. Susy brings the steady hand of money management and as a  Certified Master Groomer by IPG, has a major interest in the growth and continuing education of every groomer.

In 2008, to better serve our States Grooming community...Members will have the option to be Regional Directors who's responsibility is to set up workshops and fun days in their given areas...all members are encouraged to contribute in your areas as our state is large and diverse.
