WAG Members and Friends rally to the call of helpless dogs rescued from Puppy Mill raids in Skagit and Snohomish County!

With 597 dogs taken in raids in Janurary 2009, WAG members and friends rallied to the call of several local rescue organizations to help come groom the helpless dogs taken from several houses in both Skagit and Snohomish counties.

Groomers banded together forgetting that they are competitors in very tight ecomonic times , rescheduling regular clients and putting personal family events on hold, while they rushed to aid rescue organizations groom countless Shih-Tzu, Yorkies, Mini-Aussies, Chihuahuas and a host of designer 'Toy' breeds.

Groomers from as far away as Ocean Shores, Friday Harbor and Bellingham joined the ranks of local groomers to get the job done in just a few short days.  The groomers brought all of their own equipment and donated supplies of shampoos and conditioners, hauling in car-loads of equipment  and disasembling mobile grooming units to accomplish this task.



Working into Thursday night after a full day of grooming, Nancy, Wendy and Pam, along with a team of bathers, dryers, and runners worked feverishly to get as many dogs groomed as they could at the first holding/check area for Saving Pets One at a Time (SPOT)...
